Is there a better way to honor our great country's forefathers than with a presidential party of epic food and drink indulgence? Answer? No, hence Yelp CLE's Red, Wine & Brew Tasting!
This past Thursday, about 50 Elites and guests were graciously hosted by locally-owned grocer, Heinen's Supermarkets, for a post-Presidents Day bash that would have made Abe and George pretty stinkin' proud! Yelpers were greeted with glasses for tastings and a spread of food that could have fed a small, very hungry army. We're talking about bruschetta, mini salmon balls, freshly roasted, carved turkey and roast beef, homemade croissants and enough desserts to conquer the toughest sweet-tooth.?
Then, there was a throw-down. Well, a wine and beer sampling throw-down, that is. Guests were given the chance to taste 5 different wines, 5 different beers and a ton of perfectly matched cheeses. In fact, Penny S admitted, "I could have eaten every last piece on those plates. I went back and picked up a little brick of the goat cheese. Delish."?
Amidst all the wining, dining and err...beer-ing, were lots of activities! Heinen's passed out a nifty trivia sheet with fun facts about the tastings. The folks who answered correctly were entered into a drawing to win Presidents Day themed prize baskets stuffed to the brim, including a gift card and a Cleveland reusable tote from Heinen's. And because we think every yelper is a winner, each guest also got to leave with a complimentary Heinen's growler to fill with glorious beer! Monoa H boasts, "Do we have a winner for most bad-ass party favors or what?"
Elites also got crafty with a make-your-own yelpy campaign pin station and posed in front of the patriotic photo booth. Oh yes, Abe hats and beards ensued. Check out all the awesome party pics?here.?
